 June 18

We saw a moose, some baby ducks and some beautiful white swans on the way to Palmer.......here is a picture of the Glenn Highway, it is a really nice drive......

Just before we got to this campground where we were going to buy a puppy from a lady Al met on the Internet, they play crib together....we encountered another long wait for road construction....then we arrived, bought our little Blue Healer and visited a while with her and then went on into Eagle River.

Al finally decided on a name. ;)  "Patches"

The drive between there and Eagle River is like a High Mountain
Goat Trail, scared the bee jeebee's out of me and I made up a joke that I told everyone......."I know why there are so many people in Alaska, because they are scared to drive back home......I thought about that trip back up the mt. the whole time we were there.....it was the worst stretch of road we encountered the whole trip......no guard rails on the right (going back) just narrow cattle trails I swear for miles and miles...very scary!!!!!!! it's a long time too, I don't know how many miles only that it's too many miles.....lol.....

This is my hubby,  AKA Al, AKA albert58........lol....his "Alaskan Look" and his new puppy, he's so proud....she's a sweety...we did fall in love with her, Tara and Maggie???? well that's another whole thing, they don't like her, don't want her...thank you very much......
Anyway, we arrived in Eagle River Alaska, early afternoon,
Jill was still at work, we went in to say Hi, so happy to see her again....it had been over a year.....since they moved up there. ;)  a happy day......so we parked the motor home outside her newspaper until she got off work, we then went to their apt. and spent the night in the parking lot, the manager gave us one night, so the next day: we moved to Anchorage...

Here is Patrick, Jill, Al & Elisia outside her apartment, theirs is downstairs
right behind them. ;)

June 19
We went into Anchorage and found a place in Mt. View for $120.00 a week, so we set up "camp" there, it had a nice laundromat and a little bit of grass for the girls to play in....they have this little pen we let them outside so we could clean...we had cable and full hookups.....Jill came to get us everyday after work so we could have dinner and run around a bit....we arrived a few days earlier than expected so she was still working while we were there. ;)

This of course is Elisia holding our puppy!!!

Elisia came and stayed with us the next day and spent the night......we went to Moose Head Pizza.....very good pizza, I loved it and it was fun having a relaxing meal without driving all day. ;)

June 20

Jill came after work and picked us up and took us to Sea Galley for dinner...very good, went to Fred Meyers and did some shopping for this and that.....she stopped at this really cool card shop, so I bought lots of "cool" cards......lol........

June 21

Jill & Pat came and visited for a while, then went to Eagle River, left Elisia with us again, so we enjoyed spending time with her, she loved the puppy of course...we enjoyed a nice quiet day just relaxing and doing laundry....Elisia helped us fold clothes. ;)

June 22

Here is Jill at her Summer Solstice Festival, she and her friend made lots of money together last year.......Her friend called at the last minute and was very ill so couldn't go with her and help........Jill has a pretty Mehendi design on her  hand and finger that she did herself......it was just after this picture that the local channel 13 from Anchorage came and took her picture for the evening news......so they were on TV that night. ;) what fun!!!

Elisia and I went with Jill in the morning on Saturday, and picked up Patrick after work to go help her, then we went back to the motor home it got really hot 80 degrees, very unusual for Anchorage.....You would have died laughing at me, I had Jill's Saturn, stick shift....and we were alone just me and Elisia going to pick up Pat, I thought I knew where he was, and we drove around forever and never did find his work......and everytime I went to put the turn signal on,  I'd turn on the windshield wipers...it was so awful, Elisia and I were just laughing, but it was so hot it wasn't funny...well it turned on the water too....such a fuss...we managed to go find our RV park, that was amazing, Anchorage is sort of big you know. ;) !!! and got Grandpa and we found Pat's work and delivered him to Jill......

Jeri came to visit us, surprised us, she and Jeremy came and stayed in the campground not too far from us almost all the rest of the week. :) it was great.....she took us to see the city....of course we started with the Port of Anchorage... took a couple of pictures one below

Then we went to Gravity hill, it's this place that Jeri took Jill and I, 15 years ago when I went up there, it's a hill, and you put your car in neutral at the bottom of the hill, and the car starts rolling up hill....amazing, glad we could finally prove to Al it really was a gravity hill..........hehehehehe from up there too on top of that hill you can see all of Anchorage and the water, what a view.........

This is an amazing bar we visited here in the afternoon, so no one was around...it's really cool inside has like 7 different "theme" bars inside you can pick to drink in and different music of course....I loved the way they finished the outside of the building.......looked cool..we were on a mission, had to pick up a button from there for a friend, who had visited there years ago, and lost his button......lol.....

She also took us to Ship Creek, where they do combat fishing... :) it's amazing all these guys lined up in rows fishing......

This was a quiet day

here's Jeremy helping Elisia fish for a few minutes. ;) she fell in love with her new cousins !!
June 24

Jill came to get us about 1:00 we went and got Jeri and Jeremy and went to the Alaska Native Heratige Center...Jeri's oldest son Justin and his girlfriend Sabrina found us there, it was great seeing them, I hadn't met her yet....Then in the evening we decided to take all the kids to the IMAX in Anchorage, they were showing Wolves& Alaska....it wasn't a real imax, it only had a slightly rounded screen didn't go all they way around or up, but it was still a good film.  Then we went to the Sourdough Mining Co. a great huge place with good food, it was nice having all the kids there together, across the street to see the worlds largest chocolate waterfall....it was real so silly.....then back to the park.........

June 25

Nothing too exciting today, went to Fred Meyers, it's sort of exciting since we don't have one here. ;) ...lol.....picked up a few things of course....then Jeri took us to see this reindeer....it's the second one, the other one died I guess cause I remember her taking us when we were here before. ;) it's on the left of the cage, laying down, it was sooooo hot.....poor thing it doesn't have any room to move, it's in somebody's back yard.......

met a few of Jeri's friends that I've been hearing about for years so that was nice.....then she stayed and drew and we visited....

June 26

Jill came and got us to take us home to her  house for dinner after she got home from work....we sent out for Pizza....it was good......Elisia got pink eye, don't know how but it was a nusiance.....and she wasn't feeling great. ;) then we called Bill and found out what time he is coming Thursday...he's flying up to go with us to Soldatna where Jeri lives.

June 27

Jill was driving us around Anchorage seeing sights and then we went to Mongolian Barbeque for dinner..they had chinese food there too...so we had a nice dinner and they took us to see "Evolution" the movie, it was fun...we used to go to dinner and see movies alot when she lived at home. ;)

NOW WE ARE GOING TO JERI's HOUSE
